Greyhound trainer to face court charged over horrific animal cruelty

A Sydney greyhound trainer has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly live baiting greyhounds at a property in Cabramatta.

The 27-year-old was arrested at his home about 9.30am yesterday, after police became aware of a number of images depicting animal cruelty while investigating an unrelated matter.

The man, who is a registered greyhound trainer and owner, has been charged with two counts each of torture/beat and cause death of animal, commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal, and use animal for training.

He is due to face Liverpool local court today.
