Group of men arrested over Tweed shootings

A GROUP of men have been arrested after a house and car were blasted with a shotgun at Tweed Heads.

Operation Kulayle was formed to investigate the shootings which took place on February 3 this year.

A home on Anthony Avenue at Banora Point was shot at twice with a shotgun, moments before a further five bullets were fired at a ute in a nearby street.

No one was injured in the shootings.

Following a four-month investigation, police this morning raided homes at Terranora, Tweed Heads South, Tweed Heads West and Banora Point, and arrested five men.

They have been taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.
