Teens charged over wild chase in alleged stolen car

Four teenagers have been charged after allegedly leading police on a dramatic chase from Logan to the Gold Coast in an alleged stolen Audi.

According to police, the luxury vehicle was stolen from a home in Helensvale on Tuesday, May 24.

It was then spotted in Logan just before midnight on Saturday, sparking an alleged chase when the occupants failed to pull over.

As a result, police were forced to call in the PolAir helicopter, which tracked the stolen Audi all the way to Pimpama where road spikes were deployed.

Four male teens, two aged 16 and two aged 17, were taken into custody at the scene.

They have been charged with a string of offences, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and burglary.

One of the 17-year-olds will appear in Southport Children’s Court today, while the remaining three teens will face Beenleigh Children’s Court next month.
