Guilty verdict in Brisbane’s notorious McCulkin murder trial

A Brisbane jury has found Garry Dubois guilty of the notorious McCulkin murders in 1974.

Dubois, 69, has been convicted of the rape and murder of siblings Vicky and Leanne, and the manslaughter of their mother Barbara.

Their bodies have never been found.

The Supreme Court was told during the trial that Dubois and co-accused Vincent O’Dempsey abducted the McCulkins and drove them to bush outside Brisbane.

O’Dempsey allegedly took the mother away and strangled her before returning to help rape and murder Vicky, 13 and Leanne, 11.

79-year-old O’Dempsey from Warwick will stand in May next year.
