Guinea pigs stolen from Gold Coast child care centre

Police are desperately appealing for information to locate two guinea pigs stolen from a child care centre on the northern Gold Coast.

The two guinea pigs were taken from an outside enclosure at a child care centre on Pascoe Road, Ormeau sometime last weekend.

“These two guinea pigs, named Charli and Danni, were beloved pets of the young children at that centre and are sorely missed,” police said in a statement.

“Not only were Charli and Danni pets, they also provided a positive experience for the children aiding in developing physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills.”

It is believed the offenders entered the centre grounds and removed Charli and Danni from their outside enclosure.

Police say the enclosure was secure and there were no signs of any other animal involvement.
