Gunman blasts hole in roof of Queensland home in terrifying home invasion

A MAN with a sawn-off shotgun has burst into a house and threatened the occupants before blasting a hole through their roof and stealing their car during a frightening home invasion on the Sunshine Coast.

Police say the gunman stormed the Duhs Road home in Nambour around 10.50pm on Saturday.

Once inside, the armed intruder allegedly threatened a 42-year-old male resident at gunpoint before demanding he hand over the keys to his car.

The accused snatched the keys before firing the shotgun inside the house, blasting a hole through the ceiling, and fleeing the scene in the occupant’s car.

Thankfully, the 42-year-old resident was not hurt during the terrifying ordeal.

Police are appealing for information from the public as they try and track down the armed offender.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance and around 185cms tall with a medium build, balding brown hair, brown eyes and distinguishing tattoos on his arm.
