Gunman on the run after man shot dead at Sydney service station

UPDATE: There are unconfirmed reports that a gunman, who shot a man dead at a Picton service station in NSW, has been found dead.

A body has been found in a creek where police were searching for the gunman, who shot dead a man, who has now been identified as Darren Wallace, at a service station in Argyle Street about 12.25pm

Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack which is being investigated by Camden LAC and the Homicide Squad.

They have stressed that it is not terrorism related.

EARLIER: A man has been shot dead  at a service station in Sydney’s southwest.   NSW Police have confirmed that a police operation is underway near Argyle Street in Picton and have advised the public to avoid the area as they continue to search for the gunman.   The shooting is believed to have occurred at the Shell service station around 12.25pm.   NSW Education Department has confirmed Picton High School is currently in lockdown.   Emergency services remain at the scene.
