Gunman on the run after holding up Sydney servo

Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a service station at gunpoint in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

Police said the man entered the Stranraer Drive servo in St Andrews at around 10.50pm, produced a gun and demanded money from the till.

An employee handed over an amount of cash and the man fled, police said.

A crime scene was established and examined by forensic police.

Despite conducting an extensive search of the area, the offender could not be found.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a tall thin build and was said to be wearing a blue hooded jumper and tracksuit pants, and black fingerless gloves at the time of the offence.
