Gunman terrorises motel staff in country NSW

A GUNMAN is on the run after terrorising staff at a motel in Central West NSW.

Police said the man stormed the Woodward Street motel in Orange around 9.45pm on Wednesday, armed with a gun.

The man allegedly threatened an employee before jumping over the reception desk and demanding money.

Wielding his gun, the man removed money from a drawer and fled out the front door. He was last seen running north along Woodward Street before turning east into March Street.

Detectives are now searching for the man, described as being 183cm tall with a thin build and blue eyes.

Police said he was wearing a balaclava, black gloves, dark jeans and a jumper.

Thankfully, the employee was not physically injured.
