Hail damaged cars go under the hammer

PICKLES Auction house in Hamilton was the place to be if you were looking for a bargain today.

The first lot of cars damaged by Brisbane’s horrifying storm went under the hammer.

Channel Nine reports, two cars were sold every minute as buyers came in the hundreds.

Cars were selling for half the price with a 2011 Toyota Yaris sold for just $3000.

It is expected that cars are going to continue coming in for auction for the next few months.

The industry estimates it’ll take up two years to fix the 60,000 cars damaged by the storm with panel beaters being flown in from around the country.
