Lewis Hamilton has taken out the Spanish Grand Prix, cutting away at Sebastian Vettel’s lead in the Formula One Championships.
The Mercedes driver took the chequered flag 3.4 seconds clear of Vettel to claim his 55th career win.
“That’s how racing should be and I loved it,” said Hamilton.

“This is what the sport needs to be every single race…to have that close battle with him, a four times champion, is awesome.”
Hamilton is now only six points behind Vettel in the championship with a quarter of the season finished.
Vettel is on 104 points to Hamilton’s 98.
Daniel Ricciardo finished the race in third, 75.8 seconds behind the winner, to grab his first podium finish of the season.
