Handyman victims urged to come forward

GOLD Coasters duped by an alleged shonky home maintenance scam are being urged to come forward.

A 31-year-old man was last week charged with fraud, after taking money for work he never carried out.

Police claim the man distributed flyers (similar to the one pictured) in the Gold Coast area, promoting general home maintenance services.

But, when he was engaged to undertake work, he allegedly accepted payments but never carried out the work.

Anyone who believes they may have fallen victim to this scam is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.
