Police are appealing to the public to come forward if they were in the vicinity of Kerkin Road North following the discovery of a deceased teenage girl on the banks of the Pimpama River yesterday afternoon.
To help establish a timeline, detectives wish to speak to anyone who was in the area within the last seven days. See below images.
Detectives are also appealing to anyone who may have seen any people or vehicles that appeared suspicious or out of place, to contact them.
Preliminary information indicates that the deceased is a teenage girl, and police are wishing to hear from anyone who may know a child in that age group who is missing in the south east corner and who has not already been reported missing to police.
The crime scene is still being contained, with scientific and scenes of crimes officers, and police divers on scene. Investigations are continuing.
