Hawthorn’s Jordan Lewis rejects Suns deal as part of O’Meara trade

Hawthorn vice-captain Jordan Lewis has reportedly rejected an offer to join the Gold Coast Suns, as week two of the AFL Trade period begins.

The Herald Sun reports Lewis has been offered a three-year deal from the Melbourne Demons and could accept the offer as early as today.

It’s understood the Suns had been hoping to clinch Lewis’ services as part of the Jaeger O’Meara trade.

What the Suns are planning now is unknown, although there is speculation Hawthorn hope to swap picks No. 21 and No. 10 to the Suns for O’Meara.

On Friday, Hawthorn traded away a future first-round pick and two second-round picks to secure St Kilda’s No.10 pick — a prize they hope to use a bait for O’Meara.
