Gold Coast Acting Mayor Donna Gates said “this year’s carols promises so much more than just a concert.”
“The program includes a visit from Santa and fireworks to finish off the night – it’s going to be the ultimate Christmas experience for everyone there.”
Cr Gates confirmed Gold Coast charity Paradise Kids would be the major beneficiary of this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Appeal. Paradise Kids supports children physically, emotionally and socially after they have experienced trauma.
“We’ve had a huge amount of support for the appeal already from our Junior Council members who have been collecting gift donations within schools across the coast,” said Cr Gates.
“Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.”
People can donate on the night with the purchase of a carols program, or leave wrapped gifts at one of seven locations across the city from today until 19 December.
