Health care worker charged over alleged sexual assault of patient

A health care worker has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a patient at a health clinic in Sydney’s south-west.

A 50-year-old woman attended a medical clinic in Chester Hill for an appointment in April, when the alleged incident occurred.

“Police will allege in court that a man, who was conducting a medical procedure on the woman, sexually and indecently assaulted her,” NSW police said.

The woman left the clinic and reported the incident to police who immediately launched an investigation.

Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 40-year-old man at a unit complex in Northmead on Tuesday 7 April.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated sex assault – victim under authority, and aggravated sexually touch another person.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
