Helensvale duo in court following violent robbery
A man and woman are due to appear in court today following the violent robbery of a man in Helensvale on Thursday night.
Police say that around 10:30pm, two men assaulted another man on Anaheim Drive, stealing his debit card.
A woman who was with the two men then allegedly stole the man’s car and fled the scene, with the two men also fleeing in another vehicle.
A 33-year-old man from Upper Caboolture was transported to hospital for treatment of suspected internal injuries.
Following investigations Gold Coast police took two people into custody at a Helensvale address.
A 19-year-old woman from Helensvale has been charged with robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted fraud and driving whilst disqualified.
A 30-year-old man from Helensvale has been charged with robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted fraud.
Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
