Help shape the future of the Gold Coast’s live music scene

The Council is searching for Gold Coasters with experience in the local music scene to help them grow the city’s live music industry nationally and internationally in the coming years.

It comes after they recently released their ‘Gold Coast Draft Live Music Action Plan‘ – the Council’s strategy to build the city’s reputation for live music, support local musicians and their audiences, and provide those in the industry with the business skills to succeed.

Now the Council is looking for members to join their Live Music Advisory Group.

In a statement they said: “If you have experience in the local music sector as a musician, venue owner or within professional services including management, PR or technical you can play an important role in shaping the future of the live music scene on the Gold Coast.”

“The role of the Live Music Advisory Group will be to assist the Live Music Taskforce in making recommendations to Council on important regulatory issues such as liquor licencing, noise and the City Plan.”

Ideally, if you’re interested, you’ll be available to attend three meetings between February and April 2017.

Register your interest before 20 January 2017 by sending an email to cultural@goldcoast.qld.gov.au with your resume and one paragraph outlining your connection to the Gold Coast music scene.
