Henry Keogh released on bail after 20 years in prison

A MAN who has spent 20 years behind bars for the murder of his fiancee has been released on bail.

The 59-year-old from Adelaide was today granted bail following an appeal in the South Australian Court.

The court found Mr Keogh’s original trial amounted to a miscarriage of justice.

“In our view the applicant did not receive a fair trial and there has been a substantial miscarriage of justice”

Mr Keogh was found guilty by a jury in 1995 for allegedly drowning his fiancée Anna-Jane Cheney in a bath at their Magill home in Adelaide in March 1994.
