“It’s official, we are back, and I’m so happy to announce that the show WILL go on,” he said.

“The Arts and so many productions were hit hard due to COVID and it was stop and start on the production for some time with all of the uncertainty.

“But there’s no better feeling then having the green light to get back to doing what we love and being able to support local talent with our production.”

Mr Ward said Gold Coasters can expect the show to be bigger and better than ever.

“Our incredible production team have focused all of their efforts over the last year into putting together an even bigger and better version of the loved musical,” he said.

Cast auditions for the production will begin at the beginning of February, with local dancing queens urged to come forward.

“We are on the hunt for Queensland-based performers to join our incredible cast. There is so much talent across the state and now more than ever is the time to showcase this to audiences,” Mr Ward said.

A total of 20 performers will make up the MAMMA MIA! cast, with one budding musical theatre star to score the lead role of ‘Sophie Sheridan’ as part of the local star search with 102.9 Hot Tomato.

Tickets for the new show dates are on sale now via Ticketek, while those who have pre-bought tickets will be directly transferred over to the new dates or have the option for a refund if unable to attend.
