Gold Coast Council wants to hear about our ‘everyday heroes’ – and wants to award them for all the hard work they do for our awesome community.
There are four categories to nominate under: individual, not-for-profit group, business and project.
Deputy Mayor Donna Gates says nominations can be made for a variety of reasons, but it’s important to acknowledge the good work that is being done.
“Safe suburbs create stronger and more connected communities, so if you know an individual, community group or business who has made a difference, please take the time to nominate them for the 2019 Safer Suburb Awards.
“Whether it’s mentoring ‘at risk’ young people, promoting road safety, supporting people who may be experiencing homelessness or volunteering for graffiti removal, like our previous winners; there are many ways to make a positive impact in the community,” Ms Gates said.
To nominate, pick up a form available at any customer service centre or library on the coast, or go online here.
Nominations close on September 20.
