Merry Christmas train commuters – Queensland Rail has a nice, little surprise for you!
In order to say thanks for your continued loyalty over the past couple of years, Citytrain services will be FREE for four consecutive Mondays.
Starting from next Monday (November 18), through to Monday December 9, those using the train to get into Brisbane won’t need to touch on or off at station gates.

“Thank you for your continued loyalty over the last two years as Queensland Rail worked to restore services earlier this year,” is the message from Queensland Rail, posted on the Translink announcement.
So to be clear, you can travel for free on the following days:
- Monday 18 November
- Monday 25 November
- Monday 2 December
- Monday 9 December
This excludes the Airtrain services though.
