LLEYTON Hewitt is expected to be announced as Australia’s new Davis Cup captain on Tuesday.
Wally Masur is currently the interim captain for the Australian team, following Pat Rafter’s sudden resignation in January as Australia went on to lose in the semi-finals to Great Britain.
Tennis Australia have called a press conference for 9,45am in Melbourne where it is expected that Hewitt will be officially given the top job.

The legendary tennis star is set to retire from the sport after next year’s Australian Open.
The 34-year-old former world No.1 is Australia’s most prolific Davis Cup singles winner and helped Australia win the trophy in 1999 and 2003.
