High-Profile Jeweller Dies in High-Rise Fall

The Gold Coast woman dubbed Australia’s ‘queen of diamonds’ has died suddenly on the coast, plunging from a Surfers Paradise high-rise.

Ann Middleton was a talented jeweller and generous philanthropist who designed pieces for the likes of Bill Clinton, Ian Thorpe and Olivia Newton John, some of them worth more than $1 million.

The Sunday Mail reports that Ms Middleton died on Friday night.

Two years ago she survived ovarian cancer but had continued to suffer excruciating pain from nerve damage.

The 61-year-old received an OAM for her work and was once listed as one of Australia’s 50 most iconic women.

She will be laid to rest in her home town of Adelaide.
