Hillsong pastor charged with allegedly concealing his father’s child sex offences

A prominent Australian church leader has reportedly been charged over the alleged concealment of child sex offences.

Following a lengthy two year investigation, 67-year-old Hillsong Founder Brian Houston has been charged for allegedly knowingly concealing information relating to child sexual offences committed by his father.

Police passed their brief of evidence onto the Officer of the Director of Public Prosecutions before they were advised to serve a notice for ‘conceal serious indictable offence’ this afternoon.

The 67-year-old was served via his legal representative.

It’s understood he is currently overseas after being granted an exemption to leave Australia.

He’s expected to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday, October 5.
