There’s some relief for long-suffering hinterland residents with the Goat Track set to reopen next week, a month ahead of schedule.
The section of Tamborine Mountain Rd has been closed since December 2020 following a massive landslide.
Transport and Main Roads had previously announced the road would reopen in September but it will now partially reopen on Monday.

Reconstruction works have seen 20,000 tonnes of debris removed from the site.
Crews have also spent months stabilising the slope and installing 300 rock anchors as well as a large amount of rock-catching fencing.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey confirmed the road is now safe enough to reopen early.
“It’ll remain a single lane only in some sections. I think people who know the road will appreciate that and just be careful around any traffic signals and that sort of thing,” Mr Bailey told the ABC.
