A PLANNED hazard reduction burn in the Hinze Dam area could continue for up to a week and a half.
The burn is part of an ongoing fire management program to reduce fuel loads such as grasses and dense undergrowth vegetation ahead of the summer months,
Seqwater fire management officers said fire units are on site today and will continue to monitor the site over the weekend.

“Expected weather conditions today should result in a reduction of smoke in the Hinze Dam and Gold Coast areas,” the statement read.
“Forecasted winds on the weekend will push smoke up and away from the coast.”
