Easter holiday traffic, crashes spark chaos on Gold Coast roads

Anyone hitting the road today is being urged to pack their patience, with long delays expected as thousands of people head away for the Easter long weekend.

There’s also been a number of crashes on Gold Coast roads already this morning, only adding to the dramas across the city.

A motorcyclist has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital after an accident on the Helensvale South off-ramp.

It happened just before 10am, with the rider, a man aged in his 50s, suffering minor injuries.

Southbound traffic is currently at a standstill pretty much all the way from Nerang back to Beenleigh.

Further south on the M1 and traffic is bumper to bumper in both directions between Mudgeeraba and Tugun.

Meantime, a crash along the Sundale Bridge at Southport is causing dramas for motorists travelling through there, with delays back to Labrador.
