Hollywood A-listers leave the Gold Coast over COVID surge

George Clooney and Julia Roberts are on their way back to the US after their latest film production was suspended in Queensland.

‘Ticket To paradise’ had been filming in several locations around the Sunshine State since November 2021.

The Gold Coast was amongst the filming locations, as was Hamilton Island and Brisbane.

But the project’s now been suspended as Queensland approaches the peak of the Omicron outbreak, with several staff and crew members testing positive this month.

It’s understood there’s still two weeks left of filming for the production which will have to be rescheduled to later in the year.

The A-listers reportedly flew out of the state late last week.
