Hollywood stars and Aussie favourites hit the Oscars red carpet

Plenty of stars are strutting down the red carpet in Los Angeles this morning for the Oscars, with a couple hot favourites flying the Australian flag.

Fiona Crombie and Tony McNamara are our best bets to win Oscars at the 91st Academy Awards, taking place at the Dolby Theatre.

The ceremony is expected to kick off at 11am Gold Coast time.

Production designer Crombie and screenwriter McNamara are nominated for their work on the British historical drama/comedy, ‘The Favourite’.

The film racked up a whopping 10 Oscar nominations, tied with best picture front runner ‘Roma’ for the most of any film.

The host-less ceremony will see performances by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper as well as Queen.

While Australia only had the two nominations, plenty of other big names will be hoping for a gong.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have received seven nominations for ‘A Star is Born’, and Rami Malek is the favourite for best actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
