A homeless man is recovering in hospital after a horror attack on the Gold Coast last night.
The 59-year-old man was sleeping on the ground around the side of a building on Griffith Street, in Coolangatta when he was savagely assaulted early this morning.
Police say it looks like a glass bottle was involved in the attack.

The man was rushed to The Tweed Hospital, where he’s undergoing treatment for a possible fractured eye socket, fractured nose and fractured left clavicle.
Investigations are underway to find the attacker, and are calling on public assistance.
Anyone who was in the Coolangatta area this morning, or has any information or dash cam vision to be in contact with police immediately.
