A teenager north of the coast has been rushed to hospital after a homemade explosive device blew up in his face, causing burns to his face and arms.
Paramedics were called to Browns Plains address around 2:15 am following the explosion.
It is unknown how the explosion occurred or what the 16-year-old was doing with device.

The teen received suffered serious burns to his face and arms. He is in a stable condition at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
