Homeowner shot in break and enter

A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being shot at a house in southern NSW.

It happened at a house at Tooleybuc, 180 kilometres west of Deniliquin in the state’s Murray River region during the early hours of Thursday morning.

It’s understood a group of men burst into the Koraleigh Road property around 2.30am and threatened a 30-year-old man inside before shooting him in the leg and fleeing the scene.

In a statement, NSW Police said the man sustained gunshot wounds to his knee and calf.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police from the Murray River Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the incident.
