Homicide detectives called in to investigate woman’s death

2:00 PM | POLICE have confirmed the death of a woman at a house in regional Victoria is not suspicious.

Homicide detectives were initially called in to investigate the woman’s death after her body was found at a house in Longlea, Bendigo just after 11.30pm on Saturday.

In a statement today, Victoria Police said they were no longer treating the woman’s death as suspicious.

A 51-year-old man known to the woman was taken in for questioning last night but was released without charge.

8:00 AM | HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body at a house in regional Victoria.

The woman was found dead at an address on Alexander Road in Longlea, Bendigo, just after 11.30pm.

In a statement early this morning, police said they were treating the death as suspicious.

Police were still working to formally identify the woman at the time of writing.

How she died was not immediately known.

Detectives from the state’s homicide squad have been called in to investigate the death.

A 51-year-old Longlea man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

He is believed to be known to the woman.
