Homicide police called in after body found on Sydney’s Northern Beaches
Homicide Detectives are assisting with investigations after a body, believed to be that of a woman, was found on Sydney’s Northern Beaches last week.
A fisherman made the grim discovery around 10.30am last Thursday, on the southern side of the Fairfax Track off Scenic Drive at North Head.
“The man notified authorities and a retrieval operation commenced, involving officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command, PolAir and Police Rescue Officers,” NSW police said in a statement.
Police believe the body remained at the location for some time and remains unidentified, but can possibly be described as a woman.
Homicide Squad detectives are now assisting local police officers to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death, at this stage, there are no indications as to whether or not it is suspicious, police say.
