Homicide squad called in after body found dumped in wheelie bin

HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found dumped in a wheelie bin on a street in Melbourne’s north.

It’s understood a garbage collector made the grisly discovery while emptying bins along Butler Street, near Young Street, in the suburb of Preston around 8am on Saturday.

The area has been cordoned off with police tape and a crime scene has been established.

Victoria Police confirmed in a statement that the homicide squad has been called in to investigate the death.
