Hoon charged, car impounded after alleged dangerous driving in Coomera

A Gold Coast man has been charged after allegedly hooning through the streets of Coomera last month.

The 24-year-old is accused of conducting several burnouts in a carpark along Dreamworld Parkway, before swerving between traffic, narrowly avoiding a collision with a truck and several vehicles.

Police launched a public appeal to try and track down the car involved and the owner.

Following information from locals, the man was today charged with creating undue noise and smoke, evading police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

His vehicle has also been impounded for 90 days.

The Coomera man will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on December 2.
