World WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn has retained his title after defeating Gary Corcoran at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre overnight.
Despite an evenly-contested opening six rounds, Horn fought hard towards the end and finally claimed victory when the Corcoran camp threw in the towel in the 11th round.
In a post match interview on Wednesday night, Horn said he was confident heading into the fight, however admitted Gary put him off his game in the early rounds.

“It was a bit different this time, I wasn’t the underdog for a change and I was coming in the champion and it was a good feeling,” the Brisbane local said.
“He [Gary] pushed me all the way. Gary’s a very awkward fighter which put me off my game in the early rounds. I felt my timing was a bit off but I managed to get him out of there in the end.”
The victory comes just months after Horn defeated Manny Pacquiao, in what was dubbed the Battle of Brisbane, in July.
Horn is expected to next defend his title against American Terence Crawford in Vegas next year.
