A court has heard horrific details in relation to the suspected murder of Gold Coast father Greg Dufty.
Aaron John Crawford, one of three men charged with the murder of the 37-year-old, appeared in the Brisbane Supreme Court today in a bid to be released from custody.
During the bail hearing, the court heard sickening details that Crawford, who is the cousin of singer Ricki-Lee Coulter, lured Mr Dufty to the Gold Coast hinterland and beat him to death.
The 27-year-old, who is believed to be the primary organiser of the murder, allegedly wrapped Dufty’s beaten body in tarpaulin before dumping his body, which is yet to be found.
The court heard Crawford was “angry” because Dufty had allegedly stolen a large number of cannabis plants from him.
The revelation comes just one day after police and SES crews scoured Oxenford searching for a possible murder weapon.
Ex-Bandido Lionel Patea, who has also been committed to stand trial for the unrelated murder of his former partner Tara Brown, and Liam Bliss are also before the courts, charged with Dufty’s murder.
