Horror moment girl is hit by motorbike in alleged hit-and-run

Police are hunting a motorcyclist accused of hitting a school girl before riding off from the scene on the NSW mid-north coast yesterday.

The shocking collision happened about 3.30pm on Monday, as the 13-year-old girl was waiting to cross the road outside a school on Nicholson Street in South Kempsey.

“Police have been told the teenager was hit when the rider, who was travelling on the footpath attempted to enter the roadway,” NSW Police said in a statement.

After falling from the motorcycle, the rider then fled the scene.

Thankfully the young girl managed to escape serious injury, however she did suffer minor injuries including a laceration to one of her arms.

Detectives are now appealing for help from the public to identify the motorbike rider and have released confronting CCTV vision of the incident.

The motorcycle is described as possibly being a Honda KTM, while the rider is described as wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark coloured pants and black joggers.

In the footage, he is wearing a blue and white helmet.

Anyone with information about the rider’s identity is being urged to come forward.
