There’s a fresh lead in the hunt for missing Australian traveller Rye Hunt.
The 25-year-old backpacker from Tasmania has disappeared in Brazil, with his family launching a massive campaign to help find their son.
It’s been revealed, Rye booked into an apartment in Copacabana, one hour after leaving Galeao International Airport about 2.30pm on May 21.

His family released a statement on Tuesday, confirming the latest development.
“At approximately 6.20pm Rye left the apartment leaving a number of personal items in the room including a laptop, travel bags, a camera and a number of other items,” the statement reads.
They say his bank card was used a few minutes later.
It also confirms the owner of the apartment “has been questioned by police”.
