How to win $50K by simply recycling your empty bottles and cans

One lucky Queenslander will have the chance to become $50,000 richer next week, by simply recycling!

Since its launch in 2018, the Containers for Change scheme has returned more than $500 million back to the pockets of Queenslanders by giving 10 cents for each eligible drink container – and now someone has the opportunity to win big.

As an extra reward up until the end of May, Queenslanders who return 50 plus eligible drink containers at a time to any Container Refund Point across the state can enter the Get Recycling Rich promotion.

The Get Recycling Rich promotion has $200,000 in instant prizes to go towards 200 winners, plus all entries will go in the draw for the huge $50,000 major prize.

Hundreds of Queenslanders have already won a $1000 prize – but the big bucks is still up for grabs for another week.

The CEO of COEX, the not-for-profit that runs Containers for Change, Ken Noye says there’s been a huge amount of enthusiasm for the promotion on the Gold Coast and across the whole state.

“We’ve had instant winners from all across the state, with a cash boost helping Queenslanders doing it tough and wonderful excitement from everyone who has won,” Mr Noye says.

“With over 350 container refund points across the state, now is the perfect time cash in your empties and enter the promotion,

“The $50,000 prize will make an enormous change to someone’s life.”

Charities and community groups are also eligible to enter the promotion.
