An incredible lineup of musical acts will hit the stage at Byron Bay Bluesfest in April next year.
Festival organisers have today revealed the first round of artists for its 2021 event, with the list of 50 including a number of acts that were set to perform at this year’s cancelled event.
Patti Smith and her band, George Benson, John Butler, Xavier Rudd and The Cat Empire will all make a return to event, which will be held at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm in Byron Bay from April 1-5, 2021.

Some of the big names set to join them are Bon Iver, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Jimmy Barnes and The Teskey Brothers to name a few.
The Black Sorrows, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Weddings Parties Anything make up some of the other new additions to the lineup.
“When Bluesfest 2020 was ordered by the Government to shut-down 2020 we immediately put our noses to the grindstone within days of the cancellation and got on with 2021. This artist announcement is a testament to that fortitude,” Festival Director Peter Noble OAM said in a statement.
“I am so grateful to all the international artists who want to return and be a part of 2021 Bluesfest, to all the Australian artists and to everyone in our industry supporting us in leading the way back to live music.
“It’s a long way to next Easter and by that time travel restrictions are sure to be different. In the case of no international travel I’ve programmed a damn good line up of locals and a vibrant festival experience so people can come out and play.”
