A MASSIVE social media campaign promoting the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games is set to begin following the closing ceremony of the Glasgow Games in August.
Promotion of the Gold Coast event has been restricted until Glasgow officially hands over the Games on August 3.
Gold Coast Tourism is behind the social media campaign, which is reportedly the biggest ever organised by a tourism destination in Australia.

Gold Coast Tourism spokesperson Ben Pole said Twitter, Facebook and Instagram will be used to promote the city to millions worldwide.
“The first public phase for us will be to make sure the Gold Coast message reaches millions of people,” he told The Bulletin.
“We want everyone to know how proud we are of this city and what an amazing place it will be in 2018.
The Gold Coast Games Corporation will also be able to start signing up sponsors for the Gold Coast Games when Glasgow comes to an end in August.
