ETIHAD Stadium is set to be transformed into a superheroes haven after a unique partnership was struck between Melbourne Stadiums Limited and The Walt Disney Company Australia.
From September 1, Etihad Stadium in Docklands will be officially known as Marvel Stadium as part of an eight-year naming deal.
Melbourne Stadiums Limited CEO Michael Green revealed the surprising news in a statement on Thursday morning.

“Marvel is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and one of the most recognised brand names in the world,” he said.
“It is a brand dedicated to audience experiences, which firmly aligns with our vision to create incredible experiences for fans.
“This partnership will allow us to take the stadium atmosphere to the next level and create memorable experiences for a vast array of audiences and we look forward to delivering a truly game-changing experience.”
The agreement also reportedly includes a Marvel retail store which will open inside the venue.
