POLICE have confirmed a human skeleton has been found in bushland on the Gold Coast.
A member of the public made the horrific discovery in the Nerang State Forest at around 3pm on Saturday.
Police said the skeletal remains were found at what is believed to be an old camp site.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the gruesome find.
At this stage, police say they are treating the death as non-suspicious.
A crime scene was established and scientific officers attended the scene this morning.
Investigators are now working to identify who the remains belong to.
