Council is investigating after hundreds of fish were found dead in a popular Gold Coast lake.
Shocked locals found the fish floating in the waterways at Emerald Lakes on Saturday.
It’s not the first time an incident of this nature has occurred, with hundreds of fish found dead in the same lake in July.

Around the same time the previous year, thousands of bream were found dead in waterways around Benowa and Bundall.
The cause was put down to freezing overnight temperatures.
“It appears this is a natural occurrence, related to when water temperatures drop significantly and impact oxygen levels,” council said in a statement at the time.
Water testing is now being conducted to determine the cause of the latest incident.
However, there’s suggestions the mass-killing may have naturally occurred.
