Hundreds of Gold Coast homes without power this morning

Over a thousand homes have lost power on the northern Gold Coast this morning.

Around 60 streets across Upper Coomera and Coomera are out, according to Energex.

That’s resulted in just under 1,500 homes and businesses losing power.

Queensland Traffic has also reported a signal fault along Reserve Road in Upper Coomera.

Techs are investigating the cause of the outage, which was reported just before 9.00am this morning.

It’s understood it could be a result of fallen power lines along Reserve Road.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called out just before 9.00am, and police are also on scene.

More to come.
