Hundreds of homes, businesses without power in Pacific Pines

UPDATE @ 1.15 PM | More than 900 homes and businesses have lost power in Pacific Pines this afternoon.

It’s not yet known what has sparked the outage, but a total of 975 properties have been affected.

Some of the streets currently impacted include Alford Lane, Angourie Cres, Archipelago St, Beaumont Cres, Beerwah St, Blackheath Tce, Brunswick St, Burr Ct, Carmarthen Cct, Colong Ct, Coochin Lane, Coonowrin St, Cordeaux Pl, and Elimbah St

Gerard St, Govett St, Hotham Dr, Irvine St, Kabi Pl, Kanangra Cres, Lennox St, Mellum Cct, Minyon Ct, Palm St, Pandora Cres, Peckham Ct, Pitcairn Way, Pritchard Ct, Sangster Cres, Santa Isobel Bvd, Sheffield Cct, Springwood Ave, Stokes St, Taske Rise, Tomah St, Toohey St, Wellers St and Yamba St have also been affected.

Energex crews are currently on scene working to fix the issue.

The blackout comes just hours after a power outage struck Burleigh Heads, with more than 100 properties still without power there.

EARLIER @ 11.45 AM | More than 500 homes and businesses have lost power in Burleigh Heads this morning.

The blackout struck around 11.00am on Wednesday, with 519 properties in the suburb currently without power.

Some of the streets affected include Alex Fisher Dr, Calabro Way, Chine Lane, Davo Ct, Ern Harley Dr, Greg Chappell Dr, Hampton Rd, Kimberley Rd, Kortum Dr, Newcastle St, Ramly Dr, Rothcote Ct, Taree St and William Banks Dr.

A number of traffic lights are also out in the area, including those at the major intersection near Tree Tops Plaza, with motorists urged to drive with caution.

It’s not yet known what sparked the outage, but Energex has confirmed it is investigating.
