A GUNMAN remains on the run today after holding up a busy Gold Coast convenience store at the weekend.

A man wearing a blue motorcycle helmet entered the store on the corner of Adalong Place and McLaren Road at 4.30pm on Saturday.

After refusing to remove his full-faced helmet, the man produced a handgun and demanded the attendant empty the till into a bag.

The attendant complied, and the man fled the store with the bag full of cash and cigarettes and took off on a motorcycle.
